The Next Chapter: Seoul Style

THE SECRET IS OUT! It is 100% official that I will be teaching English in Seoul, South Korea for a full year! Over the past few months I have been hinting that a massive "transition" was going to be happening in my life. Well.... this is it, and I couldn't be any more excited about what life is going to bring me over the next 12 months.

I am blessed to be teaching through EPIK, which is affiliated with the Korean Ministry of Education and the top program in Korea to teach through.  With the immense help of my recruiter at Greenheart Travel I was even fortunate enough to be given a position in Seoul, which has the highest degree of difficulty for getting hired. You can imagine my utter shock and subsequent elation upon hearing this wonderful news.  

I will be arrive in Seoul on February 20th, and then attend a 10 day orientation where I will receive further teaching training as well as learn more about Korean culture.  In addition, there will be language training, which I desperately need.... pretty sure I only know two words in Korean that I learned through watching Korean dramas.  Makes me wish that I had actually utilized the Pimsleur CDs that my boyfriend got for me... guess that means I should start listening to those ASAP. Then during orientation I finally learn where in Seoul I will be living, and what elementary school I will be teaching at so stayed tuned for all of that information in a number of weeks.  I'm really looking forward to meeting my co-teacher, and meeting all of my students who are probably super adorable.  During this experience I believe that I will most treasure being a positive force in these children's lives, and I hope to make an impact whether it be big or small.  These hopes are in my prayers.

SO WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN FOR MY BLOG? This new chapter means that my blog will be evolving in to a travel blog in addition to a fashion/style one. I have been anticipating this moment when I could share with you more about fashion in Asia, and about all of my travel and teaching experiences. I think that relocating No Fixed Star for a year in South Korea will give this blog a fresh viewpoint, and a needed change of direction. For those who have been following I hope that you will continue to do so, and for those just checking out NFS for the first time I hope that you will return regularly to follow along with me on personal growth and style journey.
